Boca is one of several high altitude resevoirs in the Truckee Area.
Habitat is open and exposed with chapparal and few treed areas.
Birds: Boca Reservoir is always good for Western and Clark's Grebes, Spotted Sandpipers, Osprey, gulls, Green-tailed Towhees, and the occasional Common Loon. There is a Bald Eagle nest on the West Side of the reservoir near the marina. Rock Wrens have been seen along the dam and Common Nighthawks are in the area.
